Shelley Schwanderer Roland



Performance Clinician



A graduate of Eastern Michigan University, Shelley Schwaderer Roland taught for 35 years in the Crestwood, Marlette, and Clarkston School Districts from where she retired in 2016. Ms. Roland is the director of the “C3” Clarkston Clarinet Choir and the Clarkston Community Band. She teaches private clarinet lessons, performs with the South East Michigan Wind Ensemble, is a respected clinician, serves as an adjudicator for the MIchigan School Band and Orchestra Association and the Michigan Music Education Association and is in demand as an Honor Band director. Ms. Roland directed bands for 14 years at Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp, taught at Wolverine Music Camp, and directed at the University of Wisconsin - Madison Summer

Music Camp. Ms. Roland is associated with the annual Michigan Youth Arts Festival held at Western Michigan University. Ms. Roland is an Emeritus member of MSBOA and the American School Band Director’s Association. In 2014, Shelley was named MSBOA Teacher of the Year. Shelley is the proud mother of three children and the grandmother of 10.
