Master Class Clinician Biographical sketch

Aaron Wright Trombone

Aaron Wright is a native of Michigan having spent his childhood growing up in Traverse City. His high school years were spent at Traverse City West Senior High, a school with a distinctive band program under the direction of celebrated director, Patricia Brumbaugh. Aaron was encouraged by Pat and his private instructor George Bliss to pursue music in college, which he did immediately after attaining his high school diploma. While at Michigan State University Aaron earned two degrees, a B.A. in Music Education in 2016 and later a Masters in Music Performance in 2018. His seven-year academic career at MSU was spent studying with former longtime principal trombonist of the Grand Rapids Symphony, Ava Ordman.

Presently, Aaron is an active freelance musician in Michigan. He regularly substitutes in local regional symphonies including Lansing, Saginaw Bay, and Midland Symphony Orchestras. In addition to performing, Aaron apprentices as brass repair technician at Meridian Winds of Okemos, MI, and teaches a select number of private students.
