Felipe Villas Boas – Flute

Felipe Villas Boas was born in Brazil but his desire to learn the flute has made hm a borderless musician. He has travelled to Europe and the U.S. to learn from several

performers and has already performed for more than twenty flutists, those including Sir James Galway, Rafaelle Trevisani, Richard Sherman, and Wendy Rolfe.

Mr. Villas Boas is also an avid pedagogue. During the three years that he has been in the United States, he has been the teacher assistant of flute at major institutions such as the University of Southern Mississippi and Michigan State University. Besides that, Felipe has also taught music theory and ear training classes at MSU and has given private lessons to students in the Greater Lansing area. Felipe holds a bachelor’s degree in flute performance from the University of São Paulo (Brazil) and a master’s degree in flute performance from the University of Southern Mississippi. Currently, he is pursuing both a doctoral degree in music performance and a master’s degree in music theory at Michigan State University.
